When Snape tells Harry "to look at me" and Harry's green eyes makes contact with his, I didn't really understand the significance.

When I got to digest I realized why he said it and really just broke my heart. I've always been eh about Snape but this was just...well written. I hope that's vague enough. Le sigh. I can't believe it's over.

I feel like i am sunshine! sunshine and sun beams flow into to my room and tannnnn my skinnnnn. London may possibly be the best city on the planet, but jeebs, a person can suffer from acute sun deprivation whilst living there. LA IS MAGIC. La la la. The city is so diverse and unabashedly stupid and shallow but within it there are beautiful things that reassure me as a person because they have been constants in my life. Oh LA. Hazy, gross, salty sweaty toxic beauty that sprawls out in all directions until one hits the desert/Vegas or the brown sludgy ocean.

Okay, maybe I'm a little high on cold medicine right now but OH WELL. I'm so glad to be home, but I'm also glad I'm leaving in a week and a half. Boston is going to be fantastic since all my assorted lovelies will be living in NYC or in MIT frats. Is it a sad thing that I have more friends who want to see me and constantly ask me when I'll be around in the East Coast than in my hometown? I dunno. I guess it's a natural evolution of friendships. I have a few fantastic friends at home that I love and will always look out for; we may not necessarily see each other all the time or talk for hours on the phone but I hope they'll read this and know how I feel. Yeah. Cuz uh, I don't show emotion. So there it was. Peace out yo's.

I have so much clothing. Should I hold a 'sale' at my house? Like some of my jeans, shoes, shirts, etc for like 5 bucks? Would any of the few people who are in the area and still talking to me be interested in having a 'buy my clothes' party? I'll supply the wine! Heh. God I'm so jetlagged...

as a perfect day?

Today my friends and I walked to St. James' Park for a afternoon picnic. We stopped by Trafalgar Square on the way because it had been covered with grass for a green awareness campaign--I love how the City of London uses Trafalgar for every little thing--from the coconut orchestra to laying out a million cups of tea to putting out a grass lawn. I can't imagine any other city willing to constantly change up an area that's a monument to a city and a country.

At St. James we picnicked on ham, cheese, and pate sandwiches, little English sweets like Jam Twirlies, Summer Pimms (a sort of English version of sangria, which I had been dying to try and Charlie so kindly made for us), Archers and raspberry and strawberry and blueberries and all that is picnic goodness. We laid around, ate, bantered, and even played a game of ultimate frisbee. Even the police officers that patrolled the park stopped and waved hi to us. Seriously, it was a perfect, carefree afternoon--something I really needed since I'm convinced I may just fail my upcoming exams.

Joce and I then hauled ass from the park to the Gielguld Theater near Piccadilly, because we had STAGE SEATS to see DANIEL RADCLIFFE run around NAKED in EQUUS. UM. YES. Delicious. Since our seats were on the stage I got to see Dan so so so close. It was amazing to see him running around, crazed and naked, putting the eyes out of the 'horses' in the stables that were under our seats. He leaped up directly underneath me and I swear there was an intensity in his eyes that I never expected him to have. While he's not a awe inspiring actor, he's still earnest and channels his characters, and to be honest, he isn't nearly as shitty as some other actors his age. So yeah, happy happy Mimi! *if you want to know more about the naked hotness of D. R. aka H. Potter, you'll have to message me directly. ;) Here's a morsel of information: He's has a hot but pasty ass.

Tonight I got to see Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones prance around with coconuts on a stage in front of Lord Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, with the cast of Spamalot and 4, 300 people with coconuts. FAN-fucking-TASTIC!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The City of London was trying to break the world record, set in NYC a few years ago, for the largest gathering of people singing and playing coconuts to "Look on the Brighter Side of Life." They were expecting about 2,000 people, but I'd guess there was well over 5,000. They ran out of coconuts around the 4,300 mark, but I managed to weasel my way to literaly the last set. Monty Python must be the official religion of England, otherwise I really cannot explain why 5,000 people chose to come to the square on a cloudy Monday evening to play the coconuts. It was ridiculous seeing all the venerable, white haired, bespoke suited business men walking around clapping their coconuts in anticipation for the singalong. Really, what the hell?? Only in London, and thank god, because I love love love it.

We sat around on the steps in front of the National Gallery, and watched the Holy Grail with 2000 other drunk, coconut clapping Britons. There was a texan sitting behind us and we shared our bags of crisps with her in exchange for her chocolates. We did not share the Strongbows I picked up at Tesco though. Drinking in a public venue: check for me! Heeh.

oh hoy hoy mates. It's revision time/Easter holiday and I, for whatever reason, can not work up the drive/strength/desire/will to study. It's too pretty outside to work man! And when I am inside, the internet is so nice and distracting...I can go through a whole day without thinking. Lovely, lovely internet. Anyway, spring break! What did you guys do? I went to the Canary Islands (top that bitches). Here is an unflattering photograph of me exploring the coves. No it is not an insane panty line..it's an insane bikini line. Okay? It's a bikini under my dress! Not grandma panties!

It's been really nice around here lately. The weather's been absolutely gorgeous, and knowing that the weather in Boston has been completely shiteous lately makes me all the more gleeful. Still I'm psyched to come home in June, even if it's for two measly weeks. Here's my timeline: June 10 Fly home. People will flock to me and hang out with me (*crosses fingers* My cell will still be the same so call me bitches!) I fly to Boston on June 24 and I'm staying there till winter break so yeah....That's basically it.

Oh yes, I keep forgetting to post this! I've found Harry Potter! My dear friend Alex, who I went to Paris with, looks exactly like Harry Potter! He has the cute accent, a scar *ahem on his nose, but it's close enough*, messy hair, and for all the slashy kids, is gay gay GAY. Here he is, wearing my scarf. DOES HE NOT LOOK LIKE HARRY POTTER???

Okay, I've got my summer plan.

If, worse comes to worse, I don't get a single one of the 34829384759632 summer internships I've applied to, I'm just going to hunker down and take a US gov class at Harvard for the summer. I need an American pol. class for my major requirement anyway, and I rea-heaaally was not looking forward to taking two 300 level pol classes on top of 300 level chinese, so this plan may just be perfect. I'll have the perks of living in Cambridge as well (rather than languishing with boredom in Wellesley if I opt for summer session there)...what more can I ask for? Hell, regardless if I get an internship or not I'll still go to H's summer school. I need that credit and I'll just intern on top of class.

Suddenly I feel like a weight has been lifted. Thank goodness. SoCal buddies, this means I'll only be in LA for about 2-3 weeks in July, so we'd better party it up while I'm back. I'm talking to you Ms. Fake ID Amber....London's made me an alcoholic and I plan on drinking myself into the ground in preparation for Harvard...it seems only right.

I love London, but that's not news. I just got back from Love Song, with Cillian Murphy, Kristin Johnson (Sally from 3rd Rock, or the woman who fell out of the window in Sex in the City), Neve Campbell, and Michael McKean (Hello, SPINAL TAP!!!). It was amazing. I really loved its modernity and rhythm. It had a surreal feel to it, and that's hard to impart in a comedic stage production. Loves it!

I've seen an amazing number of shows featuring amazing actors, and thankfully there's no end in sight! The best thing about West End is its accessibility to students. I've gotten great discounts and I'm always, ALWAYS in the first 15 rows. Fantastic!

Shows I've seen:
Avenue Q with Ann Harada
Spamalot with TIM CURRY!
Guys and Dolls with Patrick Swayze, heeh, he's still dreamy
Merry Wives the Musical with RSC and Dame Judi Dench
The Man of Mode, with some guy from Band of Brothers, I think
Antony and Cleopatra, with RSC and PATRICK STEWART AYE
Much Ado about Nothing with RSC
Twelfth Night with an all male cast
Love Song with those people I already mentioned.
.

On Deck:

In two weeks, the Glass Menagerie with Jessica Lange
The Tempest with Patrick Stewart AYE AGAIN
Underneath the Lintel with Richard Shiff (TOBEY FROM WEST WING AHHH!)
EQUUS WITH NAKED DANIEL RADCLIFEE WEEEE.
The Rose Tatoo with Zo? Wanamaker (MADAME HOOCH!!)
The Lady from Dubeque with DAME MAGGIE SMITH (Sister Act 1 and 2 baby!)
Rock and Roll.

Okay. Whew.

For something completely different...

Honest to God, happiness = England.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE ENGLAND, but more importantly, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the people I've met here.

We went on a road trip across Southern UK, starting off at Neil's house with a good English breakfast. I honestly freaked out because it was all so English and I just couldn't handle it. I took pictures of his house, his neighbor's house, his kitchen, his milk bottle that was left outside for the milkman (OMG!!!!!) to pick up.

Then we went to Abi's house in Wales, where sheep roam free and English is abandoned for the gibberish that is Welsh (and oh yes, it is gibberish). We went to two castles, shopped in Cardiff's high street, wandered about, hit a Christmas fair, had a lot of tea, listened to carol's on old 45's, and took it in. The next day we were old on the road with our trusty satnav TomTom and cd's full of ridiculous Christmas cheese (ie BAD English Christmas music).

We went to Charlie's house in a village oustide of Stratford upon Avon. Actually, it is not a house. It is a vicarage. Charlie's village is so small they don't have their own vicar so Charlie's family has taken up the estate. Sometimes they lock up the church directly across the street from their house. OMG!! Omg. His house, according to Neil--a proper, posh, but brown, Brit--is the most English thing he has ever seen in his life. Charlie has the Oxbridge old boy accent too. OMG. Anai and Alex agreed with Neil. Charlie is truly, truly English. He acted with the RSC when he was a kid, dammit. AHHH! OMG!! I love his house. I want his house. I want to be English. OMG!! We watched Home Alone (OMG! Cheesey Christmas movie, loves it!) in the sitting room next the the fire place and Christmas tree. OMG.

We hit the touristy areas in Stratford, then went to a smaller village half an hour out, where we had cream tea in a little bed and breakfast called Badger's Hall.

There is more but I'm sure no one gives a frick but me.

...

Honestly I am overwhelmed. Germany was fantastic but this road trip was just a dream come true. I am so, so, so happy that I decided to come to LSE this year.

christmas concert
piggy
[info]rosy878
Absolutely fabulous Christmas concert put on by the LSE choir and orchestra. Neil looked like he fell asleep in the extended solos, and Alex looked like a purple haired Harry Potter. Fantastic. I thought it was just going to be a little dinky show, but no no, it was in a full blown gorgeous Anglican church--the choir performed for an hour--traditional Christmas carols and Hadyn's Nelson Mass. Really, it was just extraordinary! And they had a harpiscord!

The orchestra had a guest cello player for Schumann's Cello Concerto. I had never heard the piece before but OH MY GOD. It was like he was making love to the cello and by extension making love to me. Goddamn cellos are sexy. I had to leave halfway through Beethoven's Symphony no. 5 because I had to finish my papers. :( Weh.

At least I can look forward to RSC's Much Ado About Nothing on Saturday and Germany's gorgeous Christmas markets Sunday-Tuesday. Then the grand UK road trip from Wednesday to Friday...I want to see Neil's car and drive on the *wrong* side of he road, and I'm so psyched to see the notorious sheep in Wales (and eat Abi's mother's Sri Lankan food), and see Charlie's village in Stratford! And hell's yes to tickets for the Merry Wives of Windsor! Dame Judi Dench baby!)

Dear God just let me make it till Friday. After I turn in my papers and do my presentation I can start to enjoy the holidays. The boys are making us a traditional Christmas dinner and I honestly cannot wait for the Secret Santa exchange. My pimp pack rules.

I have to give props to the lovely Jocelene for such a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner. It's an absolute wonder that you and Alison made enough food to feed 17 people, but my god woman...you're simply amazing.

I am thankful for my life, my family, my boyfriend, my camera so I can keep track of the memories, for the wine that got me tipsy, for dirty englishmen, and for all the hugs and kisses I got tonight whilst eating my way through turkey, candied yams, flambet yams, green bean casserole, garlic green beans, mash and gravy, the best damn stuffing I've ever had in my life, homemade biscuits, spice bars, zucchini, pecan and peach pie, for cuddling with various people on the couch, for pool, and snake bite, and for the most amazing group of people people I've really ever met anywhere. Thank you London. Thank you God, that one that's up there, somewhere because though the world feels cold and depressing and full of mucky, fucked up shit, there's always something in me that feels like there really is something beautiful in all this nonesense, and I felt it tonight. Maybe it was the wine mostly, but whatever. I felt it, and it feels good.

Oh I feel a little teary.

I know you all remember the WB's shortlived summer series Young Americans. We were in the ideal viewer demographic--aged 13 and angsty. The years of my life man.

Why why why is Young Americans not out on DVD? Why why why am I reduced to watching it on youtube were the sound is not in sync with the actual picture? Why have I watched 4 episodes (all revolving around Jake and Hamilton, mind you) instead of writing my paper? Why do I steal squeal when anything remotely flirtatious or sexual happens between Jake and Hamilton? AHHH.

I am exhuasted and I can't write right now but I'm going to anyway to preoccupy myself so I don't do any further damage to my essays instead.

MMMmmm, Patrick Swayze danced his way into my heart tonight. People, see Guys and Dolls before he leaves on the 25th! The dance numbers made me feel so gooey inside! Oh sigh sigh sigh. I wish I could flex like those boys flexed.

The boy (er, man) may be 50 but he can still shake it. He did a little happy dance with Adelaide after bows and it looked like the happy dance I did in my head when I found out I got first in my French history class. (Woot to me).

How pleased am I with the fact that we got just got third row seats to the RSC to see Antony and Cleopatra starring PATRICK STEWART for FIVE POUNDS?! SO SO SO PLEASED. Mr. Stewart, I cannot wait for January when I will see your lovely shaved head and Roman nose.

We are going to hit up RSC's productions of the Tempest, Much Ado About Nothing, and Antony for a grand total of 30 bucks. Hells yes.

Judi Dench! We are harkening to you in Stratford-upon-Avon in our December all-over-Britain road trip! We haven't forgotten about you!

I am so exhausted from this weekend. I just need to get through Friday and then I'm off to Florence. Maybe I should go to bed. Novel idea.

There are things that I have to remember. I can't let it float out of my head like I usually do. My memories here seem so much more substantial and real. I honestly think the city makes it feel more real simply because it's freaking London and it's what I've always always wanted.

Things things for me to remember:

the string quartet in covent garden
walking around covent carden with neil
abi going to the world music awards and fulfilling one of her life's dreams by seeing michael jackson-- it's really a wonderful thing. I'm jealous--I only got 1/4th of my dream by seeing Paul McCartney in Boston.
lara and anam and abi stealing the huuge 007 promo banner at the bond premiere--and waving the royal wave to the queen.
joce and i marketing every sunday.
BOTELLON in Seville until 6 am. AHAHA.
Drinking from my own mini bottle of Champagne (provided by Wellesley) to a Wellesley function outside of Cordoba.
Being bitchy with Christina.
Being told by a (drunken) Spaniard that I was more beautiful than a ray of sunshine.
Dos besos, barbas, and mullets!
Tapas, jamon, tinto de verano, and PAN.
Singing along to Look on the Brighter Side of Life with a bunch of brits.
Being attacked by the peasants with coconuts outside the Palace during the premiere of Spamalot.
Brunch at Shakespeare's Head with the dears.
Ridiculousity at Harrod's and being too chicken to get in line for Father Christmas. As an Asian dating a Jew I just feel uncomfortable.
The opera singer singing Ave Maria in one of the balconies in the Egyptian escalator.
Mission Impossible: Florence
Every single amazing musician in the Tube
The guy on the tube with his friends on night at 12 am, who pulled a butt plug out of his plastic bag and declared that he was going to snort some coke, then roll the butt plug in cocaine and sit on the butt plug when he went home.
Subsequently, after the man got off the tube and flashed his nips to his friends who were still on the train, the obviously gay friend of the man holding his head and saying "honestly I get sick at the thought of him sitting on that."
Midnight cheeseburgers with Amber.
Seeing DCW at a Wellesley alum's mansion.
Drinks and networking at another Wellesley alum's mansion; coveting her rustic kitchen and British kids.

Why is it spelled that way here? I don't know.

Last night was full of drinking and dancing and random white (*ahem "CHAV") rappers from Wales (GLC) playing even more random music. It was fun of course, but I think the highlight of the evening was my bus ride back to Liverpool St. Yeah I was dazed and my head was pounding, but as the bus crossed the Thames the water (which does not look as murky in the moonlight) and the lit buildings all around it looked...magical. It was just a beautiful thing. I just got that feeling of whoa! I'm in London! I came from ZhengZhou China, and now I'm here! London! I completely understand Anam's drunken reaction to seeing the London Eye when we were heading to the club. She was sitting on my lap and I literally had to hold her down to keep her from jumping around. She just kept saying over and over--I'm in LONDON! I'm in LONDON! It warms the heart, aye.

In other news:
Tonight I got wine drunk IN A CLASSROOM at LSE. I enjoy that so so so much. The little goody goody in me was at peace with my baddy baddy. Because hello! School sanctioned drinking! A-ok by me!
Imagine a winetasting powerpoint presentation, 6 different wines, 50+ bottles, 100 students, and 150 wine glasses. (I LOVE LSE.) It was the first wine tasting for Bacchus Friends, and oh man, it was fabulous. We went from Pino Grigio (ecch! basically water!) to a really intense Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, and I actually am starting to develop a palate! I totally called the tuna in the Pinot Noir. Dudes, I am a fan of buttery, delicious tuna sashimi but oh man, it is not good when it comes in liquid, wine form. I am on my way to being a wino asshole. Yesss. When I go back to Wellesley, I am so fucking starting a wine club.

Two hours after the meeting started I'd consumed more wine than I had ever had. I honestly giggled the whole way to the library to return a book and skipped off to Dionysus for fish and chips with the rest of the crew. Then I spent two hours skipping selectively through season 5 of Gilmore Girls with Anam. I honestly cannot believe that university life is like this. It must be the fact that we're in London. London is magical.

In other news, I'm obsessed with tea thanks to the lovable Brits I constantly hang with. Hobnobs!!

I've been sleeping so much I feel hungover.

London London London.

This city is fantastical. Exhilirating. Really, really, ridiculously good for procrastinating.

My thoughts are far too jumbled to write a coherent entry about my time here so far. I can only pump out short bursts of "I'm so tired because I partied all night!" I understand that that gets old.

It honestly feels like I'm still on summer vacation. I've been riding on a slingshot to New Orleans to Philadelphia to Los Angeles to London. I can't get my brain to slow down and just...ponder. Why am I here? Why did I get this priviledge? WHY IS MY MONEY ALL GONE? Why has our society accepted the concept of the nation state as natural even though the world pre-Westphalia didn't even register that as a viable strand of political thought? Why is Vichy France so effing complicated? Why am I not buckling down and studying? I'm here for school dammit.

It all goes down to econ. I have a year in London. I have finals at the end of the year. My oppurtunity cost for partying now instead of studying/attending class is potentially failing my finals at the end of the year. But the end of the year is so far away that I don't care enough to think "Oh wait. Perhaps I may just fail." But then I'm a Wellesley Woman and I really don't think I'll fail.

I've stopped writing coherently again.

Wah.

Ministry of Sound on Tuesday night! Weee!

PS. I hope you had some fun here Amber! I know for sure you loves the tea, crumpet and hobnob combo. Sorry about the flight. :(

PPS: Jocelene, naked Daniel Radcliffe West End show is called Equus. Starts next year! We must get tickets!

I was in Tesco an hour ago, and seeing the image of the building on fire and hearing the words "plane, building, New York" just gave me chills. I think I had a minor panic attack.

Sigh.

Yes!

Today we procured seats to Avenue Q.

Second row center baby!!

The most ridiculous thing about it is that we paid less than forty bucks each for the tickets.

I am very excited for 8 pm tonight.

But then I will go straight home after the show. No more partying. No more dancing. No.

Postcoital edit:

OH MY GOD.

The show was so freaking good. I'm estatic. I loved it. Our seats were amazing. I actually made eye contact with the actors. And since you start drinking at age 4 in London, I not only was able to buy drinks at the bar, but I was able to bring the fucking rum and coke (in a mini Coke glass bottle!) into the theater and drink as the muppets boned each other.

I love this show. I definitely have to see it again.

Jet set no. 3 sort of

Okay, so fresher's fortnight is almost over, so there will be no more bitching about having to do the old school meet and greet.

Today was fabulous!

I slept in late and had breakfast with Ian, the cute! German who lives next door to me. Honestly he is the sweetest guy alive, with the rosiest cheeks!...we made oats together and he shared his coffee with me, so he immediately had a place in my heart. I think I am a little in love with him, he's so adorable, but then I imagine poor Jewy, Eastern European Dan sitting at home thinking to himself "I can't belive Mimi left me for a GERMAN!" and I just can't do it. I may be cruel, but I'm not that bitchy.

After breakfast I wandered around Brick Lane. I finally got myself a pot and pan so I will no longer be stealing from my flatmates to make meals.

But yes, the theme of today is "Today was so fun! Ahh!"

I met up with Lara from Luxenburg, Killian from France, Aman from Pakistan (who owns his own horse, sheesh), and Ling from Hong Kong while waiting on Jocelene. We went picnick-ing in Covent Garden and just sat on the street, with our sandwiches, homemade cream of chicken soup, coke, chips, and biscuits laid out for the world to see. Despite the stares we got from tourists and the pigeons, it was all very lovely. Eventually we put a hat down in front of us hoping the tourists would give us money. There were no takers. Alas.

Afterwards, we caught up with a bunch of Joce's flatmates in Holborn. I was officially adopted when we all made dinner together. Today I ate the most since I've been here. It felt goood. Then the boys came over and showed us the food they made which put us all to shame. It seems that Charlie is a first rate chef. They made some gorgeous looking backed chicken and vegetables that was perfectly salty, sweet, and spicy at the same time. Afterwards we had tea! TEA! heeh! with Englishmen and Englishwomen! They taught us the ways of tea. Somehow our conversation meandered from UK/US slang to the modern political history of China. Damn! I love LSE.

Also, I'm sorry you guys, but I think I'm starting to pick up a bit of an accent. I hate myself for pulling a Madonna, but honestly, my inflection is starting to change as I speak. Additionally English slang has definitely become one with the rest of my vocabulary.

We went out to Whetherspoons (sp?) and now I am home. Tomorrow had been declared "English Day" and we are all going to make a big English breakfast with bacon and tomatoes and eggs and all that, with sausage and mash and shepherd's pie for dinner. Weee!

The bad: I seem to be one of the victims of a LSE-wide epidemic: Fresher's Flu. Bah. At least I get it now...perhaps I won't catch the really serious flu that's expected to be a pandemic this late fall.

Did you read about Rep. Foley from Florida? Hypocrisy man, hypocrisy.

Yet another fab day in London. If only we knew where to find a good local bar. We'll have to content ourselves to George IV I guess, until we figure our shit out.

Dammit I'm a firstyear all over again

Meeting people is so friggin exhuasting. You drag yourself out of your dorm to school, to a bar where you down a smmirnoff talking to an outrageous amount of people while crammed into a tiny room with its capacity obviously breached. Then you go back for a rum and coke and talk to a new set of people, but wait, they are not new, you have already met them and had already asked them the requisite "where are you from" and "what course are you studying" and so you just stand awkwardly until they leave and you feel like primo idiot number one (redundancy!) and then you want to leave but then your friend takes you to another bar where you have a Jaegar and Red Bull and talk to another group of people who you have fun with but will probably never see again socially unless you all meet accidentally at another bar...

People. I don't like PEOPLE! I am awkward! And don't know what to say! But the only way to meet people is to talk to people! People. I don't like PEOPLE!

Other news:
the Beaver is so sick. The last page of the sports section features, among other things, a picture of three couples racing to a finish line. How do they reach the finish line? They are having sex missionary style and the force of the man's thrust pushes the girl inches up, up, up, further, further, further, until one couple reaches the finish line first. They are having sex on grass of course. Rugs burn. The Ref also appears to be wearing red panties.

Sadly, the writing in the rest of the Beaver seems to be quite good. Okay, maybe, like two articles were only good, but they were so good, so good.
I joined the Bacchus Wine Appreciation Club at Fresher's Fair. I will go to their winetastings and learn to become a wine-appreciating asshole.

I am starting to like the people in my dorm. Especially James, the Public School Pimp.

so obv. not at the bang!

LONDON

is exhuasting. It's awesome and gorgeous, and to paraphrase American Splendor, depressing as all cities are.

I am the only girl on my floor. Some of the guys are quite adorable. Honest to goodness pulbic school boys (i.e. old money, old English private schools with toilets donated by the Queen and rugs christened by Prince Charles. Le sigh.) There were 8 of them today, cooking dinner while I watched from my room which is oh so conveniently across from our gorgeous kitchen. I would pop in every now and then to clean my mug or make some toast. I didn't stay too long, it just felt weird being surrounded by men. Damn women's college.

But who cares. I love Dan. I talk to Dan on the Skype. I am on Skype with Dan instead of partying at the Bang. But it's okay. I'm too frickin exhausted to even think about leaving my room to go into the kitchen, let alone to the quad.'

Also, going through "orientation" at LSE has doubled my appreciation of Wellesley. I love Wellesley. And I love all the Wellesley women who are here with me. Especially Joce, THANK YOU GAH.

What else? Oh yes. While walking around campus with four Germans, I bumped into Sylvia at the library! She's stalking me I swear.

PS. WHY THE HELL CAN I NOT FIND ANY PLATES, POTS, CUTLERY, OR HANGERS FOR SALE ANYWHERE?

I can't keep track of all this

Even though I will be horribly jetlagged, I'm gonna get my keister to this Alumna's townhouse in HYDE PARK (!!!!!) the day I arrive in London. President Walsh is meeting with the Wellesley United Kingdom Club and this terribly posh alum will be hosting the party. Ahh! I'm going to be in a truly POSH London townhouse. Notting Hill, Hyde Park...ahh! AHHH!

I thought it was pretty sweet when we went to an Alum's old school New Orlean's mansion on St. Charles for dinner but this will be oh so sweeter. Because it's anglo! anglo!
